2018 AIMS Conference

The Call for Proposals for the 2018 Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (AIMS) Conference is now open. We invite all Illinois Montessorians (as well as Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin!) to share your expertise, passion and creativity with your community. Submit your proposal to present at our 2018 conference online by Friday, July 14, 2017. Click on the link to submit your proposal:



Workshop Topics:

Topics of Special Interest:

  • Montessori beyond classroom walls—e.g., exploration of the natural world, Going Out experiences, community outreach, and service learning
  • Refresher workshops on Montessori curriculum areas, materials, and lessons
  • Workshops geared specifically for attendees representing Montessori public and charter schools
  • Social justice and diversity
  • Workshops presented in Spanish

Philosophy: Dr. Montessori’s universal vision of how children learn; cosmic education; peace education; educational best practices; comparisons of Montessori with other educational theories and practices 

Classroom Leadership and Curriculum: Montessori best practices and curriculum; practical ideas for immediate implementation in the classroom; observation; record-keeping and assessment; technology
